HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

This is a brand new set of forged MCT racing rods for LS engines. 6.350 long, 1.850 rod bearing, .748 wristpin size and .940 wide, these weigh 525 grams. From what I was told when I purchased them, MCT sold these rods to Dale Earnhardt Inc for Indy car racing but they ended up changing their engine design. These are equivalent to carillo or lentz rods. I have some used rod bolts and wrist pins if you want them I'll throw them in for free. I was originally going to hone and destroke a ls2 to get a high rpm road racing engine but I am going a completely different direction now. Although the rod bearing size is odd, there are quite a few available cranks that will fit this. I found a few sellers that will sell compatible cranks from nascar/indy/circle track cars that are new or low mileage for cheap through ebay. If you have moderate power goals, you could potentially look at grinding down a stock crank. It would be an awesome engine for a ls1 but I want to try and see how close I can get to 40mpg so these have to go. I'll hear any offer but I'd like to get around $600 for them shipped. I paid $800 and they originally cost $1800 from MCT.
