I'm building a vr6 turbo for my 951. Has anybody done this successfully?

With enough time, effort and money anything is possible.

That's gonna be a cool swap when you're done, but it won't be easy, quick or cheap.

I have seen a VR6 in a 944. IIRC, there is a build thread on Rennlist.

Here it is, most of his initial pics are gone but there wasn't much to see based on what he sent me by e-mail

If you do it, get an 01E bell housing, and VR6 adapter plate with 034 flywheel.

Otherwise you will have to cut and weld an 02J bell housing to move the starter. I have an 01M bell housing on my 944 right now just for mock up and I just got my 01E bell housing.

Was this project ever finished?

Would love to see a 944 with a VR6 engine actually driving.
