HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Where can I find one of these? Brake master cylinder angle shim
They apparently came on an MG.

I wonder if pull-a-part has any MGs floating around.

I own an MGA. On that page, Barney is talking about the MGA twin-cam which is one of the most rare MG's you can come across. Parts are even rarer to find.
If youre thinking of using this for the brake master cylinder, we have found that we needed ~8 degrees angle when deleting the cereal bowl and the pedal drilled 3/4" up.
What Ive found lately that may be cheap and easy are called "angle pinion shims" that are aluminum and come in all sorts of angles; such as 8 degrees. Lots of offroaders use these. The only thing is, youd have to drill your own holes is them. No biggie though right...

That's exactly what I have been looking for.
Now, I think I drilled my pedal 1" up instead of the 3/4". Would anyone have the angle for that?

I havent measured it personally. Xschop did though and I believe he said its 8 degrees for 1"? Its 12 degrees at stock location.

Re: Where can I find one of these? Brake master cylinder angle shim
I re-measured it a few weeks back and my 85.5 factory cereal bowl puts the brake booster exactly 12 degrees from the firewall. I calculated a 30% decrease in angle when drilling the Brake pedal clevis pin upwards by 0.75" so a manual MC off the firewall should be 8.4 degrees.
Looks like ~8.4 degrees when drilled 3/4" up according to xschop.
If its 12 degrees stock and 8 degrees at 3/4" then at 1" it looks like it should be 7 degrees. Just incase anyone needed that info.

Awesome info, thanks.
I finally got my welder working again today, so I will probably just cut 3 sides around the mounting surface, push it out, and then weld in the angle.
This should help anyone out there without the welding abilities.
