HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Question on rack and pinion with LS1, hydroboost. - Page 2 Empty Hydroboost

Post  fliermike45 Sun Mar 25, 2012 7:43 am

Nice pics, but they don't help.
I need to know the exact connections between the PS Pump, Hydroboost unit and the Steering Rack plus any low pressure return line(s). A schematic would help.
Additionally what are the thread type and size of the Ford HB ports?
Thanks.

I haven't really dug in to my HB install yet, but here is some info I found while researching.

I'm guessing not . . . . bad things happen on the track when you turn and brake at the same time Laughing Maybe AutoX is different haven't done that.

Uh, no. It's called trail braking. If the car can't do it, that trouble, imho.

I just saw that the 2002 ss came with a factory ps cooler. Hmmm.

Does the P.S. Fluid reservoir have to be positioned above the Hydroboost for gravity feed?

I would assume gravity feed is necessary as all of the factory systems I've seen are setup with the reservoir above the pump. Here's another good diagram:

Question on rack and pinion with LS1, hydroboost. - Page 2 Empty Hydroboost

Post  fliermike45 Tue Mar 27, 2012 8:52 pm

Once again, thanks guys for the diagrams.
One more question: What are the threads (and sizes) of the fittings on a Ford Mustang HB unit?
I want to source AN6 adapters for the pressure lines.
Thanks
