I would like to mention I cannot take all credit for this build. My best friend since I was 2 recently purchased his parents house, and offered me his garage to build the car as he wants to learn more about building himself. So him and I have been working on it all together. Always nice to have a helping hand.


Car purchased

We decided on a 5.3 (after kicking around other ideas), initially I wasnt going to go FI, but with header costs for our build being over a grand, and knowing eventually we would want more power, just said screw it might as well.

Did some trading and got a 05 5.3 with under 100k on it (supposedly). It came with everything minus a harness. Some of it had already been disassembled.

Started ripping her down some more for block cleaning and painting.

While I really like the smooth valve covers, with my past experience of imcompletion, I decided to reuse the oem valve covers, and just keep the oem coil bracket locations. I am going to however have a set of bungs welded on for breathers

Ive already ordered a LS6 cam, as well as a dbc throttle body.

I also picked these up simply because they were at a price I couldnt pass up.

Smoothing the truck intake

Also, my fuel rail kit is on route. I text the guy, his name is Wayne, super nice guy.

He also asked what intake I would be using it with, he has custom intake brackets, even for truck intakes, hooked me up with polished rails, black fittings, black/red fuel crossover line, and a integrated fuel pressure gauges.
