For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

It depends on the heads you have. It you motor/heads came with it then keep it,don't get rid of it just because someone told you they didn't use it on theirs!

I usually by pass the TB, unless it is a emissions car. Those are steam vents and they need to be run to the expansion tank .

Cool. looking up the GM Part number (10108635) it looks like GM isn't selling them anymore. I'm gonna try and build my own outta rubber hose and fittings, then run that to the tank. Seem like it'll work with the rubber hose?

Talked to some guys at my FLAPS. They suggested using rubber heater hose as well. Guess I'm headed to Lowes for some parts. If they have what I need I'll post the part numbers.

What do you guys do to hook up the throttle cable? Use the one from a Camaro or something else?

Has anyone used the alternator from the Camaro? The one I've got is 140 Amps and tested out to be good so I'd like to use it if possible.

'83 944 V8 LT-1 swap - Page 3 Empty I'm Back, and in need of help

Well, after a little break and playing around with a couple of bikes, I have gotten seriously started back on this project.

I do have a favor to ask though, can anyone post a picture of the stock fuse box for a 1983 944? I (stupidly) took off the wires to the box thinking I needed them off to get the wiring harness out. I thought I took a picture of them before I took them off, but now can't seem to find it. If someone has a picture of what wires go to what fuses and relays that would be most helpful.

The white connector is closest to the driver's side door.
The yellow connector is towards the passenger side.

Thats awesome! Do you know how the G and H connections go? They are the wires directly behind the ones pictured.

I can certainly try and find out. I'm not really sure which connectors/wires you are referring to though. Can you explain a little more? (G, H ?)

I'm working on the car now; changing the oil/filter which isn't fun with my remote filter setup. I may cut and weld a door in the stainless underbelly pan tonight so I don't have to take the entire stupid thing off again next time I change the oil... getting old (me and the having to remove the pan).

I REALLY want a car lift. I should have bought one 8 years ago and I'll probably say the same thing 8 years from now.

The connections are behind (above actually, if the fuse block is in place) the pictured connections. They are all seperate, one wire terminals (not sure why Porsche did this as they have all the others nicely placed in the bundle). I did find out some information from the FSM, but I have a few wires that are still out of place (three or four). I did find out that all the wire that go to the "H" connection are red wires and feed the accessory fuse block; I believe they are hot all the time, might be a good place to pull power if needed. I think I have all of these in place as they should be. The other place, the "G" connections, I'm not so sure about. I followed the FSM wiring diagram, but still have extra wires.
