HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

944 Midwest Get Together August 22nd and 23rd. Hybrids welcomed
This is a cross post from the LT1 board. I wanted to post it on the LS1 board as well...
Nick from Bennington Motorsports is hosting the 3rd annual 944 get together and wrenching party. His shop is located in Lafayette, Indiana. Nick would like to extend an invitation to us hybriders to come and hang out and wrench a little. I have attended the past 2 years and mostly help with timing belt and BB replacements and retensions. Usually there are about 8-12 cars which show up. This year there is a possibility that Excellence Magazine will show up and do a little write up on the event.
I think it would be great if any of you guys could come and bring your car to expose others to the wonders of the V8. The event is fairly low key and pleasant.
This is the original post from Nick...
Well, it's time again for the Midwest get-together to be held at Bennington Motorsports in Lafayette, Indiana!
This year's get-together will be the weekend of August 22 & 23.
Most of the festivities will be on Saturday, but anyone who wants to hang around til Sunday, or has ALOT of work they want to do to their car, I will be at the shop on Sunday as well! This year I have extended an invitation to the gathering to the 944-Spec racing community, so there will be some spec cars on hand if anyone is interested in getting into the Spec-racing family.
I have also been in communication with one of the writers at Excellence magazine, and they have expressed an interest in coming to the gathering and publishing a write-up in a future issue!
Registration will again be $20 a person to help with food expenses. Ask anyone who has been to the gathering in the past, there are always TONS of burgers and beer-brats to be consumed I am also working with one of the local t-shirt companies to have midwest get-together shirts made. These will be included in the $20 registration fee.
For those who haven't attended the gathering in the past, I open up the shop for anything you could want to get done to your 944 and offer most parts at cost. The holy-grail tensioner will be on hand if you wish to replace or re-tension your belts, and as always, I will have both R-12 and R-134a service machines available for repairing and re-charging your A/C systems! The shop is at your disposal, as is the helping hand of Porsche mechanics who have wrenched on WAY too many of these cars
Stay tuned for updated information as it becomes available, and please let me know who all is interested in attending!
Thanks!
-Nick

You want me to pick you up? I will traveling from Evansville WI to Chicago IL to meet up with chitown944 and then head to nick's place.

Ok I am hoping my porsche will be up and running by then, I have most of the parts waiting on the new heads I ordered from trickflow (brand new design 54cc cnc 202 intake 1.60 exhaust). the oil pan is finally finished (just needs paint and pics will be forthcomming after I make sure it fits as well) the oil pan if it fits will be a brand new design as well ( my own ) and pics with narratives will be forthcomming if all works out well.
So basically I don't really have any more hold ups ( the oil pan and the heads were my hold ups).
So Like I said if I can make it it would be on the sunday , can't make saturday due to work.
Hope to be their and hope to see you their.

Bob,
If you wanted to PM me your phone number, I don't have it anymore. IIRC you are located north west of chicago, off of the interstate. It appears we might have a 5 - 6 car caravan traveling together from the wisconsin/ chicago area when combining the Pelican people with the hybrids folks.

Unfortunately I doubt I am going to make this , my ford ranger's transmission took a dump and the oil pressure has been on the low side as well. So for the last month instead of working on the porsche I have been redoing the engine and transmission on the ranger. Hopefully next yr and hoping to atleast to have the porsche running by the end of august beginning of september .

It is to bad you won't be able to make it. Maybe next year. We are trying to finalize the times we are heading out. Maybe we can stop by on Friday on our way down to Chicago.

We all missed you guys at the event. Many people were asking if any of the hybrids were coming. They were disappointed nobody came. Maybe we can get at least 1 hybrid out there next year.
