HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Which wire?
On the stand alone wire setup it calls for an igintion wire form the ecu to the switch.I unhooked the wire setup from the ecu to the ignition switch that was installed in the 85 early. The shop hooked the ignition to the black wire at the back of the switch.

I began looking at the 86 turbo ignition switch to figure out where the ignition wire goes on here and the wires are some what different. I am not sure which one to tie to in order to get the same response as it did on the ealry. I have looked over my schematics but it seems all the wires eventually go to the stock computer. Any one know which one it is?

Re: Which wire?
Hey Collin, I just recently talked with Matt Smoorenberg and he said that the Early cars (pre 85.5) are wired differently at the factory switch than the later cars. Get the schematic and go with the wire that stays constant during all key strokes... Matt says it stays hot even in key insertion on the Early cars...FYI
