HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

TOB or not TOB ?
Im helping my son ,Oso ,on his conversion and I have a question about the hydraulic TOB : Can I use the regular TOB / ARM / SLAVE set up ? We are using the QT BH and a LT engine. Thanks for all the help we are receiving from this forum , we wouldn't be able to do it without. We have the bh in place an looks like we have room for the slave and fork.

Re: TOB or not TOB ?
I'm considering doing the same thing. I have welded up and filled my transaxle mount with polyurethane and everything is positioned. Started the mounts tonight and will have them finished tomorrow morning. Looks like enough room however I'm not sure how long the fork is. I was planning to take a closer look once I finish my mounts and I am also almost finished my headers so I want to make sure everything is clear in the exhaust department as well.

Re: TOB or not TOB ?
The Quick Time BH will accept any GM throwout bearing setup. The GM bearing retainer bolt pattern is drilled and tapped on the QTI already. To use the late C5 Hydraulic Slave setup, 2(two) 1/4"-20 holes must be drilled and threaded on a 100mm bolt circle on the BH rear mounting flange.
Also incorporated is the cutout for the early GM clutch fork you mentioned. Post some pics of your setup when completed, so we can all be assured that QTI has corrected all problems with the RM-6033, including overall depth. Torque Tube mounting flange has been another problem area.

Re: TOB or not TOB ?
Thanks guys. I'll probably end up going with the fork since it's easier maintenance. Which fork and slave cylinder will fit in the QT?

Re: TOB or not TOB ?
Actually the hydraulic TOB is the slick setup and once you consider the price of the throwout bearing, fork and slave the $140.00 for the Hyd. TOB is pretty slick! I don't really see a maintenance issue? HTOB has one more O-ring. Slave would be mounted above my exhaust collector and subject to more heat than the HTOB.
