HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

ECU Selection Empty ECU Selection

Post  robstah on Sat Dec 19, 2009 5:22 am

Hey guys,

Hopefully I will be picking up my 5.3L vortec motor soon and was wondering what everyone has planned for the ECU and wiring harness. The tune is definitely going to be changed, but would there really be any difference in running say an LS1 ECU vs the original ECU that the vortec came with? If I go with a newer ECU, would DOD (displacement on demand) work?

My L33 was not a displacement on demand (2008 feature?), and it was a DBW intake/cpu. Mine didn't come with an ECM and I didn't want to deal with DBW so I reverted it to an fbody DBC and traditional early LS1 ECM with a bunch of custom programming.
