HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Testing the waters. I have a working '83 944 with a '94 LT1 that I want to let go.
Thinking of letting my 948 go ('83 944 with a '94 LT1). I'm in Connecticut. I'm older now and am moving and just don't have the time. The car is really fast.
The water pump blew out commuting home from work and I didn't know until oil pressure got too low and the engine stalled. It did not seize. I put a new water pump in to find the head gasket blew (maybe). I just don't have the time to replace it. It runs. It'll blow white exhaust until the water runs out of the cylinder then it burns clean. Who knows if the LT1 head is warped/cracked.
I'll come back and modify the list as I think of things. Just putting this out there. If you want a race car or a nice project car, I drove this one for years. So much fun. I'm struggling to let it go.
Testing the water for interest.

Covered in dust right now. Has a dent on the hood from a rock someone threw 16 years ago which dinged the windshield as well. Small ding in the back under the hatch. Not a big deal. Nice V8 symbol on it
- It has a sealed Optispark with a 4 coil Cadillac ignition.
- Renegade Hybrids programmed the computer to give a little more gas.
- Has a powerful aftermarket 911 fuel pump.
- Renegade Hybrids Kit for engine install.
- Clutch works great.
- '86.5 Turbo transaxle with polished hardened gears and an N/A 5th (great for highway cruising). Also has limited slip and the transaxle oil cooler.
- Suspension has been lowered with newer stiffer torsion bars and front spring from RH.
- Has new 911 seats. Only one in the car right now. It works, just needs power. I powered it up to get my perfect position and left it in that spot.
- Have original Turbo 911 wheels that fit but has nice Boxter wheels on right now.
- Has an external oil filter to fit a large ford truck filter.
- Has an oil cooler.
- Has a power steering cooler. I put the power steering in.
- Use stainless wrapped lines for many things.
- Has a powerful amplifier with nice speakers above the rear wheel wells.
- Have a new carpet I haven't put in.
- What else...
- Short shifter
- Spal fan and RH radiator.
- Programmable fan controller on the dash.
- Power windows work great.
- Beautiful thick real leather wrap on the steering wheel I had to thread on.
- Custom stainless steel exhaust with 3" pipe out the back. Has a huge truck catalytic converter to a glass packed exhaust. It rumbles but is not too loud. Very nice. Won't annoy the neighbors but really breathes well. Stainless. That was a real PITA to construct. Built to be taken apart in segments if you wish.
- Has always passed emissions with flying colors.
- Pop up headlights work great.
- Has the air intake near the front driver's side with a custom stainless plate I made to try and keep just cool air at the intake.
- The car is my avatar picture.
- I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic oil and Wix filters.

Want to add that the computer shut the engine down when the pressure got too low. It didn't shut down from friction.

Also has the stock stainless steel underbelly pan under the engine. Always liked that shield. I always have tried to use stainless parts and bolts for things where I could.

How Much?
I have not posted on the site before so I can't send you a PM. Wondering how much you are asking for you LT1 conversion and if you have pics to share.

I've decided to ask nothing after the thousands spent. I'm too old now and it's prime to be used for fun before it just sits in a garage until it dies of inches of dust on it. If you like it then it's yours. You have to pick it up. I'll start it if you want. I bet it will run. I know the machine. It'll run. Not turning the key until someone cares.
Send me a PM or send me an email address. Someone will take it, just know someone here will really enjoy it, I hope
Cheers.

Bruce,
Sorry, I didn't receive a PM, either on this forum or on my personal email. My email address is: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Maybe you sent it to .com instead of .org?

HI Brad - I think I may have confused you. I was replying to RobotMachines about the car, he and I exchanged PMs yesterday.
