The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hello! I have an 86 951, just wondering if there’s a nice diagram out there of how the heater lines are suppose to go with the heater valve, along with the vacuum lines?

Awesome thanks! So if I’m understanding it correctly, on #4 I’m supposed to supply vacuum to it from the engine? And then #5 obviously goes to the heater valve.

Diagram for heater lines/vacuum Empty Vacuum Lines for HVAC

Correct. #4 in the diagram or top one gets the vacuum from the engine. As the #4 hose goes through the HVAC, the #5 will variably control the heater valve. Many have talked about putting a manual shutoff to your heater on the HVAC side of the heater valve in the summer, this way the water can still flow on the engine side of the heater valve which has to do with water going back to the thermostat. I only mention this for you to find more stuff to read..............
