HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Team Moroney's LS1 944 Swap, In memory of Kyle Moroney.
This build is one that many who are involved hold near and dear to their hearts. Kyle Moroney was full of life and never knew a stranger, he touched the hearts of many and continues to do so as time goes forward.
On June 3rd 2017 Kyle tragically lost his life in an accident on the Tail of the Dragon, a place he could be seen most any weekend enjoying friends and cars.
This 944 was his dream of a racecar, and now his parents and friends are working hard to complete his dream. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
These shirts were made for those that wanted to support but weren't able to be at the car.

n the engine bay will sit a built LS1 backed by a rebuilt 944 turbo transmission. So far we have the drivetrain removed, and while waiting on the swap kit to arrive we will be sending the transmission and torque tube off to be refreshed and preparing the chassis for the engine.

Welcome. Sounds like a very worthy cause. You'll find plenty of info here, and if you don't, just ask.

Thank you
I appreciate Stegster posting this and we'll keep adding to it as we go. Thanks for the offers of help. I'll definitely need it as I am not too knowledgeable on Porsche. I remember when my son came home one day and told me we could get a 944 for $500. The 944 was my favorite so I was immediately interested but wondered how deep this money pit could go Then he mentioned the LS1 swap and I was wondering how that would fit. As usual he had a plan however we did not make much progress before the accident. It has been bittersweet working on it now of course, but my wife and I, along with his friends, want to see it built.
Thank you,

PS: My last engine swap was around 25 years ago and involved a 327/350 Turbo going into into a early 60s Wagoneer frame with a 48 Willy truck body on top. The frame/body swap was done before I bought it and it had an inline Tornado six cylinder with an automatic transmission. I had more room with that one and it worked pretty good but I ended up selling it before tackling the interior.
