HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Stubs units for T56
Rob, would you consider making the output units from the T56 to mate with my CVs?

Re: Stubs units for T56
I already explained there is a company that makes T56 output shaft to 930 CV conversion.....
IT is UNNECESSARY but The Driveshaft Shop carries them....
Part# 108-GM-I-42
ALL YOU NEED IS A type 2 CV to 930 CV adapter for your outer stub shafts.
Then all you do is figure how long your 930 aftermarket axle needs to be to insert into the FACTORY C5 output tri-lobe. It is 28 spline and matches a 930 axle spline. The inner race from the tri-lobe is exactly 31mm wide, so I cut a 31.2mm width between the CV clips. I've done 8 sets of 930 axles this way for the 928 6 speed conversion including the Enigma V12 and Just Peachy's LS3 Z06 swap with over 500hp.....

Someone on GT40 site was already making the CV adapters at one time, but I cannot find them, so I'm making my own. I can make an extra pair for you if you'd like....

Re: Stubs units for T56
I will start these next week. The print had called for 1045 IIRC, but I can't get that in a small piece locally, so I'm going to make them from 4140. So about $200/pr

Re: Stubs units for T56
Sent PM.Luckily I found 1045 in a short piece, so I'm going with the print spec.
If anyone else wants a set, I'll make them for $225 pair and you can send me 930 axles and I'll cut grooves for $50 and send back.
On the 944-Vette trans swap, they will be somewhere around 17- 19" so measure 3x then order.

Re: Stubs units for T56
I should be shipping yours Thursday Kevin. You will have to determine the exact length socket heads to use for m8 x 1.25 bolts going into 944 stub shafts....

Re: Stubs units for T56
As a side note, these particular adapters don't work on ABS hubs. There needs to be another 1/2" or so material added to the thickness were they bolt on to the stub shafts as the ABS ring has a smaller ID....

Rob, so i will have to change my stub units as they have the ABS ring. I figure a basic turbo unit will work.

Re: Stubs units for T56
I had an early alloy arm without the ABS ring on the stub shaft and the adapters bolted right up. I have on hand an 87 arm with ABS ring and you can just cut it off if you're not running ABS....

Re: Stubs units for T56
Ive been MIA for a while, just saw these... they look like a great solid piece!
I designed my own over the last few months for my ABS hubs and they look pretty damn similar to these. I made several versions with Inventor, then 3D printed full size pieces to test fit until I was happy with it. Slight changes may still need to be made, but overall it appears it will do the job.
The pictures arent the best... but I will post better ones once they are made in steel. The orange piece is a 3D printed 930 CV I used for mock fitting. Blue is the adapter...
