Where to locate a turbo LSD transmission

Right now im running a na transmission with the small 5 th gear and over 200k miles, the rpms are terrible and its just a matter of time before it blows up. So i have been searching around for a turbo transmission with lsd and they do not seem to be easily available. Does anyone know where i can find one at a decent price.

Thanks spence i will check that out, and fliermike that is a 5p transmission without lsd, i am yet to find a turbo on ebay with lsd, but you be i will be watching it close.

Skywalker scored a turbo with LSD and the 5th gear mod on ebay, a guy in CT, he sells a lot of parts. He got a really good deal on it.

Ebay was my first place to go, i guess i just havent gotten lucky yet. There is a pile of turbo transmissions just none with lsd! Well once i find a turbo transmission where is the best place to find the bigger 5th gear?

just had mine shipped from 944online

they regularly get could cannibal cars with lots of goodies such as the one i got from him. the car he stole mine from apparently was from an original owner who bought the car drove it for 56000 miles and let it sit in the elements for 15 years. car was absolutely destroyed but everything else mechanically was good to gut.

Ok i can do that, sounds alot better then the $2600 on ebay.

look thru car-parts.com they are a web site of all the bone yards in the USA that list what they have .
i got my 016R /code 5R trans that's a LSD with the oil cooler from a bone yard they gave me a 30 day warranty on it shipped it to my shop from SC for 1400 dollars .
because i'm a business the bone yards take 15 to 20 % off but even if your paying full price it would only be 1600 dollars .
i know many people like ebay but that's the last place i tend to look for parts i tend to look in bone yards 1st . i see many things onebay selling for much more than they are really worth .
i bought a manual 944 rack two weeks ago ebay they are selling for well over 100 dollars . i bought it for 75 dollars from a bone yard and it came with the lower steering shaft tie rods and rod ends . made the swap from power to manual every ez . i placed the order on tuesday morning it was in my hands weds afternoon and the customer had his car back thursday night .

on a side note you will be supprized how strong the V8 trans really are . in my SBC car we change out the trans becuase of gearing for the tracks we run it some tracks were you never get into 5th gear we will run a trans with lower gearing . we have never blow apart a v8 trans with a car that puts out 400 hp and torques . but we also don't do burn out with the car . we have blow apart half shafts or i should say CV's

ive used that site before for buying motors for other random cars and ive not really thought of it for 948 parts. im going to start browsing there. i actually did end up blowing my na transmission up last month nearly causing a pile up including a semi, but worst of all it made me buy a cover and hid her away! now that the season is coming to and end more or less i am seeing more transmissions for sale around. with any luck ill get one and be able to put it in Christmas brake.

you know there are other ways to get parts .
i also tend to buy alot of salvage cars for there parts .
that's were i got all the parts for my LS7 tbe chassis car . i bought a 996 roll over all the suspension was still good but most of the body panels were gone . i paid 10.5 K FOR THE CAR pulled all to good parts off it kept the trans and suspension and sold off every thing else that was good seats dash motor made all most all my money back that i paid for the car and it ended up only costing me 275 dollars for all the parts i needed . i still have the wiring and ecu to sell so when that goes i should have spent nothing at all for the parts i took off the car .

because i own a repair business i can buy salvage cars from many different places but there are places for the average person to buy salvage cars from like carfrom.us and again if you have a place to put the car and rape the parts from it could be a good way to go ? many times you will end up spending nothing for the parts you need . that's the only time ebay is my friend when i'm selling some thing and not buying .

wow, there is really a lot of lsd transmissions on car-part. im going to have call a bunch of them and get the letter code form them to verify the transmissions, some of them are only asking $600.

and 962porsche im way ahead of ya there, bought me a parts car last year and made over $1000 even after i took all my good parts. i bought my car burn up to the fire wall so i needed a lot of body parts.

porsche offer some thing like 23 transmissions for the 944's over the years about half came with a LSD so there out there .
what i like about buying from a bone yard more than ebay is if the part is no good (but most are tested ) you can just send it back and with in days you get your money back for the part . and like i said you get a 30 day guaranty with most parts you buy .
