For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Finally back on this after a very long break.

Pulling out the old turbo engine. Is there anything I need to keep besides the radiator and expansion tank?

I aleady have a new harness.

For street or track car:

Fuel Tank vent (hard line running up the firewall on passenger side)

Fuel supply and return lines if you want to run a return system with an external regulator/fuel pressure gauge.

8 pin connector and about a foot of the harness connected to it (connector is on the fire wall on driver's side) for switched power and some other convenient connections.

Oil pressure sensor wires.

Water temp sensor wires.

Two wire harness going to alternator and solenoid.

For street car . . . . . . a lot more wiring

Probably just a start . . . . .

The car is an 86 turbo. It is for street and I already had the motor harness made some time ago (SST made it it think).

Other than the fuel lines I dont think there is much else I need. (and wiring marc noted)

for AC - do I keep any of the Porsche stuff? Or does all the plumbing get scrapped?

Oil cooler - any use for the Porsche stuff?

Radiator - I already have a custom aluminum one. I have a set of fans.

any other big stuff to keep?

For A/C, you can keep the Porsche stuff and modify the compressor, or plumb in the GM controls which is easy. That is what I did.

Ted,

If you want to use the oil cooler, metric to -an adapters are available. Make sure you use a thermostat between the oil source and cooler.

I have a mocal cooler that is about twice the size of the OE and it keeps oil temps below 250 during the summer. I would check to see if chevy ran oil coolers on the OE installations.
