HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Should We be offend?
Hopefully this site is still alive?
I do believe we are the only Conversion site that handles these type of cars on a regular basis.
The first thing would to be to tell us exactly what you are looking for, year, model, style , motor choice, and price range.

Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
Sorry I do apologise, doesnt really matter the year. I would like a 924s with a beast Ls swap or a modded 5.3. With of course all supporting modifications, suspension, tires etc.. at a negotiable price. Since I work at a car dealership anyone looking for a up to date newer car we could work something out for trade. I work at a very respectable luxury car dealership. In south Carolina. Shipping wouldn't be a problem. I just want a street somewhat DD monster.

948 build
Guess you need to cost out what it takes to source and build such a car. Many newbies that come on this site make the mistake of thinking you can just drop in a LS1 and go. In fact that is a minor task.
This car requires upgrades to the brakes, the standard brakes are not sufficient. In addition the drive train has to be in good shape to handle the 350 flywheel power and get it to the road safely.
This car will swap ends in an heartbeat.

Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
You do realize that it cost more than $10K for a swap, not including the car!
Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
No highway robbery I'm a autotechnician and part time service writer. Not a car salesmen. Of any sort. I am looking for a porsche to replace what I was going to do. To my own since I lost mine. I was just picking around to see what this forum had to offer with already completed projects. I just want a project car woth the motor swap completely done and running with a tune of some sort, so I can take it out on weekends. Body and interior don't care about really cause I put my own twist on the interior. So I want a car with all motor and drivetrain complete with suspension and brakes....etc. and the interior. And paint I will do. So that's why my price is so low. I appreciate all these offers and I'm not trying to low ball anyone. I hope I'm not coming off that way..

Guess you are, 10k won't buy you much, suggest you really explore this site and then cost out a project for yourself and get a lesson in realism.
I spent $12,500 on parts for my swap and that did not include the front body, lights, mirrors and the original car and many nickel and dime items.
Somebody please tell me where I can host an Excel spread sheet that I generated during the build.

Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
I'm glad to see all the input I get is negative, I was hoping for someone to have some miles on the car and to just be wanting to sell it to move on..... to another project. Not this criticism I have been receiving. I have had some offers thank you for your input. Never ment to piss anyone off with my number of 10000 dollars cash. Most people like myself don't come across.

Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
Your best bet is to find a car that is in the middle of a swap, not running and needs work on all aspects. That's really the only chance of you finding something within your budget.
As others have stated, I can personally attest to having *far* more than $10k into my swap. I know I'll never get what I paid out of the car, but a solid, sorted, running, driving, good LSx swapped car is going to minimally sell for $15k. Add more if the chassis is a Turbo S, is modded, has expensive parts on it, etc, etc.

948 Buy
An offer of $10,000 for a fully converted 948 is an insult.
Guess I need to go online and offer 50 grand for a new Ferrari.
This thread is symptomatic of web sites like this, dreamers and wannabes read about engine swaps and believe that a bag of wrenches and a visit to U pull it will give them a supercar. Dream on.

Completed swap for sale that needs work 2500
Here is what you should purchase. Doing the work yourself you should be able to keep it at or under 10k. But otherwise like the others have said 10k wont get you a well sorted conversion.

Re: looking to buy fully finished ls swap
Im not really sure why everyone seems upset. From what i read the guy just didn't realize all that went in to the conversion so give him a break. That being said i agree 10 grand for a sorted and finished swapped car is probably wishful thinking. Mike did he try low balling your price? Apparently he offended you but not really sure why everyone cares. Chill out!
