For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

Just the alternator and H2O Pump please
I will only need an alternator and water pump on my track car. Does anyone have suggestions on the proper setup (brackets etc.) for an LSx? I will be using a 5.3 block. Thanks in advance. Gene

I used these guys for my LT1 brackets. alittle pricy but they look nice and work. They seem to have most options covered somewhere.

I want to run that exact set-up. I was hoping that someone could groove the waterpump pulley??? And just tension the alt like gen1's did. That would be awesome.
On my LT1, I ran just an alternator right off the crank and tensioned it just by pulling on the alt a bit and tightening it down. Worked great and no need for a tensioner or idler. Unfortunately, the only way I can see to do this is with the LS engines is to have an electric water pump.
Once I get my engine settled in, I will start this little project.
