HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Radiator Fan mounting issues Empty Radiator Fan mounting issues

Hey Folks,
I wanted to see what other people have done with their radiator fan mounting combinations. I am using a Griffin 26201 radiator and a Taurus fan. It fits, but is very tight. The retaining nut for the fan blade is just 3/16" from the radiator core fins (Scary). The end of the water pump pulley shaft is about 1/4" from the backside of the fan blade. Has anyone used this combination of radiator and fan and made it work ?
Unless I go back and cut out old radiator supports and move everything forward, I can't get anymore clearance.
I could go with a thinner fan unit. Any suggestions.
One other question. The correct radiator hose routing for the LS1 in the 944? The Griffin radiator I am using has the lower fitting on the driver side and the upper on the passenger side. I have read that the flow on the LS1 is reversed. Which fitting goes to the thermostat on the engine and which goes to the water pump ?
I think I have the steam tube routing right. It should go to the reservoir. Right ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I used a V6 ford contour fan setup... Im not sure if its any thinner than the Taurus fan.

Here's some dimensions for you------> [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Note: I totally removed the old radiator supports and made my own and still it's very tight

Bottom water pump outlet goes to bottom of radiator on passenger's side.

I took the pipe that runs between the heads and "T"ed between radiator and reservoir. Your radiator may not have a small nipple for this purpose.

My 1st Radiator was from RH and there wasn't much room between the water pump bell and the fan, but the engine shouldn't move fore and aft only side to side.
