HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Good Day Everyone

On a carbed SBC, how much hood scoop am I going to need with a decent sized single plane intake like an Edlebrock Victor?

Does anyone have pics of their hood scoop?

Thanks,
Ed

Check out the gallery, some have done it and have pics in there. The best thing to do is to install everything, then look at the scoop. All of these cars are slightly different so there is not a definitive answer to that questions, what works on one swap may not work on the other. stuart f. wright has some pics on the second page of the gallery that might help.

where is this gallery?
no one has done a carbed swap with a decent single plane intake? I am just trying to get an idea how much over the hood line we are talking.

Top tool bar, button near the middle called "Gallery". Lots of people have done it, but first and second gen swaps are not as common now that the LS series and truck engines are so cheap. This forum was created well after SBC swaps were common and during the time that the LT swaps were being phased out in favor of the lighter more powerful LS engines so there aren't as many threads detailing those swaps. You might try a google image search to find what your looking for.

Porche, here's mine at an autocross test before I painted the hood. Airgap intake with an edelbrock 750 carb, the scoop is a 57 t-bird replica with a 3 inch rise and no room to spare! Looks like I can't link but search'' Porche by 911 vette" on you tube. 50 seconds 2 years ago about 8 down, Jeez I'm a computer reblab! good luck
