HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

VSS install has me stumped
OK this is probably a silly question but I can't figure out how Admin's VSS sensor mounts. The spacing of the bolt holes on the bracket makes me think it mounts to the transaxle case bolts right next to the half shaft. The problem is if I mount it there the sensor ends up too far inboard to match up to the 40 tooth ring. I have the ring mounted on the face of the half shaft just under the bolt heads. Are there supposed to be spacers and longer bolts with the kit? What am I missing here? Does the 40 tooth ring go between the half shaft and the case? I feel kinda stupid that I'm stumped by what should be an easy kit to install. I've searched for treads on VSS but didn't find any pictures of Admin's kit installed for some reason. Thanks for the help.
Happy Father's day to the Dads out there. I hope you all got tools or car parts as gifts.

VSS
Here is a pic of my VSS install using a sloan bracket mounted on the driver's side of the transmission.
I made a L bracket to space it out and line up with the TPC ring.
I believe I used the driver's side because of the turbo cooler on the pax side.

Re: VSS install has me stumped
fliermike comes to the rescue again, he answered my Hydroboost fitting questions too. (Guru points?) I think I owe you a few beers by now mike .
Stupidly I did not look on the drivers side, high up by the linkage. I see there are two drilled holes that have the correct spacing for the VSS bracket. The distance to the 40 tooth ring looks correct also. I just need to move the ring over to the drivers side and I should be good. Thanks guys.

Guro points
Don't know how that works (guru points), guess I received negative status when I bitched about sloan before it became politically correct to criticise him for stealing our money.
