HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Killing Cones
Rough day on the autocross course. Could not get the course down, and on the one time I kill 2 cones and go off course (again) *sigh*

Hey, a bad day with the cones is better than a good day at work....
I know that once you tighten up your suspension the car will be much less of a handful, especially on faster courses. You can see that the car is pitching and rolling a lot. All that pitching and rolling is basically dead zone, no real direction change. The car loads up so abruptly at the end of each transition it is upsetting any control you have over the car.
You'll get it dialed in.....

Re: Killing Cones
I learn a little bit more at the SCCA events. As you can see from the course, they throw alot at you with on and off-camber turns. I had one of the Corvette hotshoes ride with me and he was amazed at the amount of power the car was putting down, but commented that I needed to learn how to apply the power at the right times. Order for beefier springs is going out after I get done with this post! Thanks for the feedback on the video.

Yup, don't get discouraged! Even though I don't have a V8(yet), I'm surprised how soft the suspension is in mine, considering it's supposed to be a sports car!!!

Welcome aboard Dan! Oh no - I'm not discouraged. I seem to do better on the smaller PCA courses - the WDCR courses are humongous, so I just need to get a memory expansion so I can remember the layout of the cones. I really enjoy the events - maybe even more now that I've gotten some stiffer springs
