For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

Combatting Firewall Flex
After upgrading to the dual master setup, I was having some major flexing going on with the brake mount and the firewall. I tried reinforcing the firewall with the thicker plating and the turnbuckle solutions, but I was still seeing flexing that was adversely affecting my braking. While over at Mike's (87-944S) house, a flash of technical inspiration struck. The following photos is what Mike and I came up with: a 10.75" piece of .5" round tubing welded to 2x 1/8" inch thick flats. Mounted between the brake mount and the drivers side frame, there is negligible flex and I don't get all of the vibration that I was getting from the strut tower. Definitiely a more comprehensive solution than the turnbuckle/heim joint (IMHO). So there you have it - my first technical contribution to the board. Your mileage may vary. Thanks to Mike for the Hawaiian Punch!!
