For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

At the NASA-SE race this weekend at Road Atlanta. Interestingly we were all racing in the Thunder run group, but in three different classes (ST1, ST2, and GTSU). Sorry, no pics, too busy racing Very Happy

I'll post videos as soon as I process them. There are some good laps with me chasing down and passing the GTSU hybrid (LT1 engine).

Fun race to watch. Thanks for posting. I really like how fair you played with the bimmer. And interesting the blue 944 blocking down the inside. He watches too much F1... Wink

The bimmer driver and I go back to my GTS3 racing days; we are good friends. He and I have always had really close and fair races. I trust him in the corner more than any other driver I've raced to date. He upped his power for this race to GTS4 (power to wt of 8.5 vs 8.7 for ST2 that I raced) and the two cars were closely matched.

I used to use the curbing on the outside of 5 all the time. What I found out with this new car is that it was very easy to break the rear loose if I got up on it. After going sideways twice on the practice day, I stayed off of it on Sat and Sun.

Wow, great video. Thats some good driving too. That bimmer must have had something pretty special done to it, it was hanging with you pretty well.

Remember, my car is a detuned LS1 and only has 300 rwhp (and TQ). That number is easily achieved with an E46M3; stock those cars are 333 hp at the crank.

Ahhh, I didn't realize that. What was going on with them stangs them? You blew past them, even in the straight aways.

Not sure on the wt or hp ratings of the stangs. I hated those things when I only had 220 rwhp. I'd kill them in the corners and they would pass my easily on the straights.

I know stock GT mustangs in those years range from 305 to 315 hp, weight looks like 3400 - 3500 lbs. So that gives a power to weight ratio of ~ 11.15 - 11.11. You said you had 300 hp at a weight of a round 2700 (maybe lighter?), that would give a ratio of 9. So I guess that's what the difference is then, they must be running stock engines and just can't keep up with you.

My target wt/hp ratio for my race class is 8.7. My old car, pictured above, was at 11:1. But HP rules the straight so those mustangs with 300+ rwhp crushed my much lighter car down the straights.

Actually it was 4. My buddy had his 948 LS2 in group 4. However, he hit the tire wall in turn one first session on Saturday and was done. Amazing how slippery the frost was.

I thought there was another ,dark in color, closer to the Chalet but I may be mistaken. Eventually mine will be done and part of the count.

Anybody have a left front fender for my buddies car?

Have him check pull-a-part, cars show up there all the time. Also let him know that I'll have a set of turbo S front brakes for him.
