HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Tis but a DynoMax VT.

I've heard fantastic reviews on this little sucker. The plan so far is to go from dual 2.25" to a single 3" collector, then 3" all the way back to the DynoMax VT. If it's anything like the reviews, the car will be loud on throttle and have little to no drone and stock like sound levels during cruising. If the on throttle part is too loud, I'll probably toss in another inline muffler in between the collector and the DynoMax VT. I can't wait to get it installed.

I run this same muffler, but with a big resonator to take it down a notch. It did not drone without the resonator, but it was a little loud for the street IMO.

Ah, great input. What resonator did you end up going with? I have been holding off and have been debating if I should add a resonator or another muffler. I was thinking of something like a dynomax bullet, but if you have something that you can recommend, that would be great.

Yup. Dynomax claims that it is a drone killer. I hate drone.

clever, I might have to add mufflers to my 69 camaro, the DMV is "on to it" allthough it got imported and passed inspection on initial impor 11 years ago, they "deleted" the pictures and info in their registry, and now claim I need mufflers...

Boy it's purdy.
A last second decision threw a Magnaflow muffler at me. So, the whole system is as follows:
2.25" off of headers to flex pipes -> 2.25" to 3" Flowmaster Y collector Y214300 -> 3" Magnaflow 12867 -> 3" tube -> Dynomax VT 17962.
If you want a very close to stock loudness, this setup is for you. It's 100% straight through and silent. I quite likey.

Thanks for posting that. I was planning on putting in a mid muffler but didn't know what size to get.

It was a complete guess, but yes, a round 5" will fit there perfectly.
