The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

How much do you guys think I should pay for this engine? He says it knocks, so I would probably rebuild with a few LT4 parts (Like dawgz did), but I don't know if an engine like this needing rebuilt is worth the $600 buy it now.

That is too much for a motor that needs a rebuild.

Don't do it.
If big brother will let you put in one of the newer truck motors.....then get a complete low mile one at that same price.

What do you think is a good price? I've bid $350 but the reserve hasnt been met. I also need to verify shipping is free before I bid more.

It's not even complete... You'll still need the computer and the wiring. Just wait till you find one that comes with everything. I wouldn't buy an engine off ebay... See if anyone local is selling one; ideally it would be best to find one running, so you can hear and drive the car.

I agree. Looks like that one was a bit abused = missing. Id skip it and others like it.
A good one would be from an automatic car. Why? Because its a bit difficult for "the kind" that drive those cars to redline and hurt the engine. My LT1 was from an automatic and the internals looked great after 80K miles.

I paid $650 for mine and it had 90k on it. It came out of an automatic car. Internals still look great and everything was there. I've even got alot of stuff I wont need so I might be able to sell them and pick up a few bucks. I just got rid of a K+N intake so the total bill is now down to $575.
