For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

staggered rocker arms
I have a guy on ls1tech trying to get me to trade him 8 of my 1.72 rocker arms for 8 of his 1.82 arms.
I am not going to since I have had a tremendous headache getting the valve train setup to work with all the parts.
My question is if anyone knows why you would run 1.82 arms on the intake and 1.72 arms on the exhaust? Just curious.

Re: staggered rocker arms
From what I could find out it is all about opening the intake valves faster. Depending on how built the motor is cam alone might not get you the lift you need. And you do not want your exaust valves opening any faster so they stagger them. Works great and is an old "racer" secret.

Re: staggered rocker arms
this is what he said when he got back with me today,
I'm mixing the set is because I've got a .600/.601 lift cam and don't want to make my exhaust .643 w/the 1.82 roller rockers. The 1.72 is near perfect for what I've got going on. Thanks
