HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I had to bite the bullet and purchase a new harness from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

xschop was right, they know their stuff and they are familiar with the 944 enough to make it easier to install the harness for you. It just sucks that I have to drop another $400 into this project when Gregg has both my harnesses and was paid in advance a looong time ago.

"It will get done when it gets done" is not an answer, that is a cop-out. (Cop out is an idiom meaning (as a verb) to avoid taking responsibility for an action, avoid fulfilling a duty or does not fulfill expectations or (as a noun) something which 'cops out'.)

****I am bitter, disappointed and feel like I was robbed. To those who may have a problem with what I post, understand that I have tried every which way to make a reasonable, amicable and civil attempt to get my issues resolved off the forums and on the forums. Do you know what I received? I received ZERO attempts to reconcile my issues and feel that everybody else who had pending parts are SOL.***

Just for the record, i never had a problem with "what you post", it was just frustrating to have every thread turn into $#**-flinging! (Especially since i can't really do anything about it!)

Glad you got a harness though, and hopefully you'll have a running car in the very near future! Get some pics up! Smile

I totally agree!!! It gets old fast!!! But then I have to buy another part and It starts all over again... you are right though, its nice that Admin segregated this here.

Ill get some pics when I received it...I have 95% of my parts and ready for round 3 of putting it together.

Last time I talked with them (SSP), I wasn't sure if the relay diagram I posted was going to be added to the basic harness they offer. I'm curious. Either way the 2 buss fuse blocks and relays are easy to do on opposite or same sides of the inner hood compartments. I think they are holding Ted's harness longer because of AC configuration. I'm glad you got yours quickly. Are you doing AC now or later?
F! AC just hit the throttle some more ... Razz hehe

I understand your frustration and had no problem with your posts.

It's maddening when you see the person who owes you parts/money responding in threads yet ignoring your attempts to communicate with them.

I hope you get the car up and running soon!

That is what drives me crazy. He is practically taunting me/us. LOL, we all should do a civil suit against him.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words of encouragement.....I wish I went to the same guy you are using, it would save me time, money and frustrations.

    sigh...... Empty Wiring Harness

    Post  fliermike45 Tue Sep 28, 2010 2:02 pm

    Aixgelo,
Thanks for the input on SSPwiring, I talked to Steve, he very patiently answered my questions and I decided to get my harness modified by his company. I also learned that my electric throttle was not going to work without more expense so he's going to equip me with the necessary manual TB.
I will be reporting more on my experiences when the work is complete.

    sigh...... Empty SSP feedback

    Post  Dan J Tue Sep 28, 2010 2:25 pm

    Hi Guys,

I purchased a harness from Steve back in April when starting my conversion. Since then he's also provided the ECU with modified settings for my cam changes, 02 sensors and a throttle body. His delivery was a bit later than planned on my first order, but he was quick to ship subsequent orders. My car isn't complete so I don't have user feedback yet, but the harness looks really sano with factory connectors and everything is clearly labled. Also Steve's customer service and hands-on knowledge and experience with LS+944 is great.

I'd recommend SSP and their products to anyone doing this project.

SSP is doing my harness right now. They have had the harness and computer for quite a while now. Sent them (Steve) loads of emails and info for my special requirement. I am not fully confident that they got it all. SSP has had my ecu and porsche harness interface for a long time now. I spoke with SSP last week and was told that they were moving into a new building and that they dont have thier test engine over there yet. I am not exactly sure what I will get from them but I will report once I get it!

    Ted,

I didn't know they had a test motor - that would be a great way to be able to guarantee that the harness/ecu/944 wiring and electronics all play well together on the bench and will work once installed in the car.

Because I've changed cams and a few things in the motor, SSP said to expect the motor will run good on the tune they provided, but not optimal until a custom tune at the dyno.
