HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Sources for dual MC brackets
Hi,
I'm relatively new to the forum - great information being exchanged. Have been looking for resources for setting up dual MC - namely the bracket and hardware.
Spoke with Kokeln (I'm using their hats & caliper adapters) and they still have a couple of their dual MC setups in stock - but their solution requires additional modifications that I'm not sure I want to deal with.
Can anyone recommend an alternative resource for a complete dual MC bracket setup?
Thank you in advance,
Dan.

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
Xchop was making a mount, you could contact him to see if he still is making them. I found this on the net, not sure if it would work. http://www.gorillaperformance.com/

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
Thank you for the suggestions.
Seems there are two routes to take: Dual MCs or Wilwood single MC.
I've also searched for information on the Wilwood 260-7563 setup. Seems like one option is to use this MC plus a bias adjuster.
I currently have the 944v8 firewall reinforcement plate but do not have the MC conversion plate and pushrod. Also, a dual MC bracket has been on order since March, but it's not clear when that will arrive and I have to move forward with the project.
Current brake setup I'm running is is big reds in the front and 951 rear calipers.
Can anyone here recommend one solution or the other based on experience? The goal is decent pedal feel with some front/rear adjust-ability. Also, simplicity is a good thing because I don't have any fabrication skills.
Thank you,
Dan.

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
I have a Wilwood master cylinder setup wit a summit racing adjustable proportioning valve that I am taking off of my car to install the hydro boost. I want to sell it, make me a reasonable offer and it's yours. It only has about 500 miles on the setup. Can post pictures later.

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
I am going to build 2 more of the all alloy housings next week. I have to make a small revision for the Tilton Dual MC bracket that is now being sold since it is different from the 72-650.
FYI....The total cost of dual MCs is around $550 all done and pinned down. So if on a budget and a single MC will fit the bill with stock brakes... then go that route....

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
What kind of revision needs to be done? Will the wilwood mount still work with it?

Re: Sources for dual MC brackets
Yes the Wilwood 340-4630 Dual MC housing is a 60* like the discontinued Tilton 72-650, whereas the Tilton 72-610 is 90* and the side MC bolt has a protruding casting there that the 72-650 did not. I am going to mill off the end there On the housing I designed so the less expensive 72-610 will bolt right up....
