HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

    What're the differences betwen an LS6 and LS1?

    Can I add the LS6 intake mani, throttle body and cam to the LS1 and basically have close to the same power?

    Or does the LS6 have far superior flowing heads, higher compression, etc, etc?

    The heads are different. I have read one person say up to 20 hp gain just swapping heads to ls6.

    I do know that the LS1 and LS6 share similar setup as far as interchangability. The LS6 cam and springs will increase your power of the LS1.

    I have been told that it's not worth buying an ls6 cam if swapping to ls6 heads because for the price you can get more power out of an aftermarket.

    Hmmm, if I can get 385 crank hp out of an LS1 simply by having LS6 cam, intake mani and throttle body along with a tune, that should give me my goal of 360-365 rwhp...

    might possibly do it. I personally am putting ls6 heads with dual comp springs I ran into on my LS1. The machine shop has to figure out if the cam can take the pring loads or not and I will determine from there if I need a cam other than the stock ls1.

    It might be another couple months depending on how long it take the shop to put the thing back together for me. But I will let you know how it goes.
