HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

RH headers
hey,
I know I know, most of you won't like this. I'm thinking about buying the headers from RH, I need them fairly quickly (2-3 weeks) because I'm going to start expediting my build soon. Does anyone actually have any serious beef with the headers? They look like decent parts. Is this a HUGE mistake?
Thanks for the opinions
Luke

Re: RH headers
From what I gather, they are over priced, not built particularly well, and have primaries that are too small IIRC. However, I have no firsthand exp. with them, but they have a bad CS rep too.
If I were you, I would get with Greg and figure out when you could get some of the ones they are working on with S&P.

2 to 6 months!
CS is Sh**, and the are over priced.
Get with Greg and order directly from S&P, 2 to 4 weeks and you should be good. and save a hundred bucks or so.

Re: RH headers
I have the RH headers, they're fine. The collectors are a little short for my tastes, and they're not v-banded. No real complaints though.
However, 2-3 weeks is incredibly optimistic. I remember i waited at least two months for mine. You might just call them and ask them if they have any in stock.

Re: RH headers
I have not had any problems with my RH headers. I got the ceramic dip done on mine so they look pretty good. Some what pricey but nothing has to be modified.Alittle tight on the collectors as Porsch said but use some bolts with allen heads and cut down and allen wrench to fit in the tight squeeze and they work great.
And ya they take a month or so to get if they don't have any made.

Re: RH headers
Getting a wrench on those upper bolt heads can be a real pain! I took some washers, cut one side flush with the bolt head (so the washer had a crescent moon shape) and tack-welded them to the bolts. No wrench necessary

Re: RH headers
So you made the washers lock basically against the headers? that would be alot easier. The allen bolts I am using arent bad, like I said I had to cut down a wrench to fit between the header and the block to get it to turn properly. I might try your way if I can get my hands on a mig welder.

Re: RH headers
Yup, exactly!
I don't have much for a MIG welder, just the gasless $100 harbor freight junk. It works well enough for the occasional stuff like this.

Re: RH headers
I just returned that pos. I tried welding in my new seats and couldnt get it to weld properly, so I will most likely have to have someone fix the ugly. I learned at school during my Associates for Auto Mechanics but we used good welders gassless and gas.

Re: RH headers
Yeah, it definitely isn't much good for most things. For the occasional tack weld it works decently, though.
An old boss of mine gave it to me for free, i think i would have just spent the extra money for a used Miller/Lincoln/ESAB if i were going to pay for it. I've got a decent amount of welding experience though, and have been able to make it work where i've needed it.
