For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LSx 944 fuel economy?

Post  v2rocket on Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:38 pm

What have you guys seen as cruising MPG numbers for your LSx swapped 944s? I know this is probably the last thing on many of your minds but for a DD car it is important still.

In responses please indicate which engine you're using, what transmission, what power you're putting down and cam/tune.

You'll have to define "cruise", but i average 23mpg everywhere. I have a mild cam and need a tune pretty badly (it runs rich). I expect i'll have about 25 when tuned.

LS1 + mild cam, Turbo trans + n/a 5th gear, oversize tires (285/35/18). That's about as good as it'll get.

That isn't too bad really, what did the turbo's get without a swap? I owned one but never checked, Razz

I drive my turbo daily.

I get about 20 mixed city/highway driving, but i'm not good about staying out of boost. I got 25 on the last 100 mile highway road trip I made.

Hope this helps.
