For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I hear tell the bolt holes dont quite line up on the torque tube. Also there would be no point since the 6sp and 5sp would have almost idential final drive ratios (so no improvement in rpms or top speed thus no mpg improvement either)

Re: Porsche 968 6 speed transaxle is it compatible?
People have run 6spd conversions in their 944s. Its all over the web and I have seen them at Hallett.
When researching the options the 6spd top end is the same as a factory turbo 5spd. So why run a 6spd just to shift gears faster and reach the same speed without an option to increase the top end. Pointless to me.

I'm putting a 6 speed in mine! Although it will be a T56 from a 94' Camaro............

The 968 6sp is NOT even close to the same final ratio as the TURBO 5sp. It's close to the N/A 5 speed.

Everyone said it's WAY too much shifting. I would forget about it... The tiptronic might be kinda cool though, not sure what the ratios are there.

It doesn't take a write up, it takes a plasma torch and a lot of welding.
If you have followed my car at all you would know that I have total removed all the Porsche drive line and replaced it with an LT1 , soon to be T56 and a Camaro rear end set up with a four link system. Everything is now hung and sitting on air bags, even the front has air struts thanks to some loaners from a Nissan Altima!
