HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I'm just curious as to what your cost of conversion kit was? NOT including the motor (as everyone's mods could be different) What was the cost of all the parts needed to get the LSx into your 944?

I'm currently selling my 2 VW's to start this project and can't wait!! Very Happy

Thanks,
Jeff

i saw that but that doesnt include EVERYTHING does it?. You still need the C5 bellhousing, clutch, PP and flywheel for example. Also do you NEED the willwood manual master cylinder or does the kit let you retain the stock master?

Jeff,

I can get ALMOST everything:
New C5 BH, SPEC clutch, Flywheel, headers...
No wiring harness or radiator, and the Wilwood MC is less than $150 from Summit.
The 944 Turbo radiator will be fine, or you can have the Summit radiator (~$175) modified to include the 944 reservoir connection and fan switch.

All can be discounted as a package.

I marked up the new C5 BH for shipping and handling, but with a "complete" kit, it would be close to GMDirect's price.

EDIT:
I just quoted "everything" for someone else about 2 weeks ago...
Close to $4500, including C5 BH, headers, clutch.
It depends on how much you want to source yourself, really.

cool thats good to know.... I work in the parts dept at a dealership so i have some pretty good hook-ups when it comes to anything that can be purchased off summit, and anything that is machined, one of my tech has his own machine shop at home where i can get most of that stuff done.

Your prices do look extremely fair and competitive when pricing everything out separately.

I'll do some research on what i can get, and let you what i need when i need it.

(also, sent you an email regarding the V8 944 manual)

Thanks,
Jeff

It's going good. The engine will be in (for the last time I hope!) this week if the weather cooperates. I see you live in Bomanville. Thats pretty close by! I'll have to swing by when I've got the car running.
