For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

MPG and what are you running
I'm looking at running an built up ls6 into a 944 turbo. But I'm hesitant to go with that high CR since my wallet is all going to tuition. I know there's a price difference between ls6 and ls1 heads but I have access to both. I'm just curious what you guys are running and what mpg you're getting. The ls1 forums have heavier cars to begin with, so their mpg is basically useless.

I am not sure on the difference between them. I am still in the process of fixing my once running ls1 948 and putting ls6 heads on it. I will keep an eye open for you.

Re: MPG and what are you running
Sounds like a bad project to start if you're still in school, but that's my .02!
I get ~23mpg with a mild cam and an otherwise stock LS1. My cam is bigger than the LS6 cam. So you can probably expect ~25mpg with an LS6?
Significantly worse if you get on the freeway. I have the N/A 5th gear and much larger rear tires to put the v8 at a more comfortable cruise speed.
