For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I am embarking on a new journey....
holy crap...i'm losing my mind....just a disclaimer.
Today I pulled my wiring harness, and a buddy and i completely unraveled it...cut all the connectors and labeled where wires went, and plugged the connectors in. We're going to be relocating the engine computer to the passenger compartment (got a b body harness so i had the computer under the header panel) and redoing the entire harness, making it cleaner and considerably more concise. Once everything is laid out, the entire thing will be wrapped in heat shrink to protect it and clean it up.
I also removed the headlight motor and bar, and we looked at how to fix the headlights up until i can build headlight buckets with lexan covers. We pulled the windshield washer fluid reservoir since it leaks...

I used mechanic wire on the bottom of the triangle piece that hooks to the back of the headlights and strapped it to the inside of the bumper to keep my lights up after removing the motor and bar. cheap and easy for a simple fix. not perfect though.

Re: I am embarking on a new journey....
good call, i might have to look into something like that! i was thinking about welding (just tacking) a piece of steel between the pivot bar that goes through the headlight and the sheetmetal under the header panel. That seemed too permanent, so i think i'll run a screw through that metal stopper that comes off the back of the headlight into the frame/sheetmetal it stops on...that's more reversible if i decide to go back at some point.
btw, pics with be forthcoming!

Re: I am embarking on a new journey....
alright...spent some time on it today getting things like i want them...
First, i put a couple of self tapping screws through the stop-brackets on the back of the headlights into the sheetmetal in where they hit to secure the headlights in the up position permanently. I had made a run to advance auto with what i wanted to do with the air intake in mind, then with some cutting of rubber and steel, i came up with a new intake setup (see pic). When i took a good look, i decided i was going to try to get the stock hood on...it worked, i just had to notch the hood support by the throttle body a little...but it would even close without doing that. Pretty crazy stuff huh?
