HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hi,

What is the widest 17" wheel people can find? Without being custom CCW's or simular. It seems like it is pretty much impossible to find anything more that 8-9" wide. I would ideally like 10.5-11 rear and a matching style in 9-9.5 front. I would have lots of options if I went to 18" Crying or Very sad

It looks like they only run 17" on the front and they're only 8.5" wide, or am I looking at faulty information. I know nothing about Corvettes. Very Happy The rears are 18"

Thanks!

Ebay has a ton of aftermarket 17,18,19 rims with 5x4.75" (vette,camaro,S-10 PCD) and adapters that you can look into. The adapter drawings are in Greg's Swap manual too.

how did I not see those before, I feel really stupid. For some reason everytime I had looked before I was under the impression that the rears were all 18" Embarassed

THANK YOU bounce

What's nice about the 120mm PCD is that the Porsche 130mm PCD makes for a very structurally sound adapter, just get "hubcentric" adapters to the Porsche Hub

I don't know a lot about adapters, but what you mean are those rings that fit around the Porsche hubs and fit inside the wheels? In addition to the plate that adapts the bolt pattern. I'm a little confused on how to figure the offset. I know how the offset is defined but what would you recommend for front/rear using these wheels?

Offset depends on your 944 year ...87-up has a later wheel offset. IIRC, a 50et rim is ideal for a 1-1.25" adapter. Maybe someone else can chime in with adapter thickness experience. I'm running TTII wheels with LATE offset upfront and Early Offset in the rear so I don't have to use spacers.
