For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

So....I think i need a throwout bearing
Had a recent issue crop up...blew an axle up and i think the stress harmed my throwout bearing (there is a very interesting...read scary...sound coming from the bellhousing/clutch area). The clutch still works flawlessly, which leads me to believe that the sound (which changes when i depress and release the clutch) is indeed from the throwout bearing.
My bellhousing/clutch system is all from renegade (picked it up for cheap on ebay before the big hubbub over on PHB) so i have no idea where to find a replacement without having to go through renegade. I was hoping to not have to replace everything in the system, since it seemed to work fine before i blew it up...Any ideas guys?

turns out my luck might have switched on me. I took a real hard listen and the noise is coming from the transmission i put in the car recently. This new trans is an early lsd model, so the little noise i was hearing (which sounded different inside of the car than outside) is just a little bit of gear noise, probably from the limited slip clutches or something like that, only when the car is in neutral and the clutch is depressed.
finally i catch a break (knock on wood...)
phew
