HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey guys,

So I finally got some more time to swap interiors of my cars, I am stuck on the A-pillars though. I removed the screws and managed to get the bottom loose but I still can not get the top part loose so I can remove the Head liner properly.

Any ideas?

You need to remove all the trim around the top (where the light is and sun visors). To remove the headliner you will need to remove all roof trim as well as the sunroof weatherstripping.

Already have all the trim out, all that is there now is the a-pillar piece and the head liner. I can rock the bottom back and forth on pivot around the top but there is not screw holding it. Is there a metal clip holding it in?

Well you've probably already figured it out by now, but the top screw in the A-pillar cover is at a different angle than the lower two. To remove/install the top screw you will need to hold your #2 Phillips screwdriver perfectly vertical as you insert it in the hole, then fish around for the head of the screw. Also, a small pick and a flashlight might help you find the screw head.

This screw is a PITA and the first time I tried to remove the A-pillar cover, I got so frustrated that I drilled out the hole and destroyed the cover. After removing several A-pillar covers, I can now remove this screw with my eyes closed, which I have found is actually better since you can't see the f-ing screw anyway!
