HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hello all, been awhile since the garage was warm enough, but it's time to finish this project up.

Here is a list of things I'm not sure how to solve exactly, and would love to know how you guys handled them.

1) I have a PS res, but no way to attach it. After much digging I found what they called res retention clips, and indeed it looks like I need some little bits to clamp the res to the pump, but heck if I can find them for sale.
2) PS hoses. I have no idea what size/fittings I need to connect this up or which is pressure/return on the rack.
3) Throttle cable. I got myself the camaro throttle cable retainer and tapped the plastic to take 3/8" bolts. If I drill out the bracket it'll fit, but I have no idea what a good throttle cable kit would be for this car.
4) Heater / h-valve. I think the small one is pressure and big on return, but I have no idea where to find the right h-valve. I have heater hose I could simply clamp on, but it would be wide open to the heater in the dash which seems wrong to me?
5) Engine fittings. There are two up front, one looks to be a steam line, the other is brass and is part of the intake/tb. Where do these go? I guess the one is steam from the heads and goes to the coolant tank, and I guess the other goes to the vent on the rear of the drivers side valve cover vent?

I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of but I have a week of next month and I'd like to make real progess..

Oh yeah, explanation necessary...

The vacuum switch works in conjunction with the cable-operated H-valve in the early cars. Late applications only require the Ready-Aire 5930. The heater controls on early cars are cable-operated (requiring a cable-type valve, i.e. stock early 944), and vacuum-operated on late cars.

This one was debated on PHB a while back...
Sorry for the kinfooshen.
