HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Don't worry, Ted.
I'm still looking. The 'man' will hopefully get his Green set soon...

I'll find 'em if they're out there.
'Net burd-dawg, if you will.

The 944v8s Headers are now production-ready, and PayPal invoices will be sent to those who have expressed serious interest. The fixture has been built, and production time will be 2-4 weeks.

Thanks for your interest in the headers, and invoices will go out later this evening. If you want to be included in the first order (and have not previously indicated), PM or email me with your email and shipping addresses.

I would guess you can put the headers on with the engine in, however the best course of action would be to remove the upper pinch bolt (firewall side) and slide the whole rack and linkage out of the way. Once the headers are in reinstall the rack and done....

These have been installed with the rack in place, and the steering shaft was connected last.
Engine in the car, then headers, connect the steering shaft last.

Well since it's in there I'm pretty sure the shaft does not get stuck, you will have to have the rack loose though since it will bind.

New Passenger Side Header...

Post  gt1scca on Thu Apr 22, 2010 10:40 pm

For those of you still on the fence, or waiting for passenger side info:

The passenger side header has been modified, and will be shipped to S&P for a mandrel-bent replica that compliments the driver side. Shown below are pics of the passenger side header, modified and bolted in place. Starter, crossmember and caster block are all clearanced properly now, and the V-Band collector has been relocated slightly.

Fixture / passenger side header fabrication may add 1-2 weeks additional time to completion, but this will now be a well-sorted, complete 944 V8 Conversion application.

$1100 for headers?
Pulllleeeezzzz.
That's an overdose of about 3.5 Benjamins...
Somebody get me a docta.

Re: LS Series 3/4 Length Headers

Post  gt1scca on Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:06 pm

I have 4 confirmed / paid orders for the S&P Headers Buy-In, but need 1 more order to finalize the Buy-In. If interested, PM or email me for a PayPal invoice. The driver and passenger side fixtures are complete, and production is ready to begin.

S&P is making this easy for us, and a 5 set order will nail down the 944 V8 Conversion Header deal.
Too good of a deal to pass on, IMO.

Anyone else?

Thanks guys,
Greg

Re: LS Series 3/4 Length Headers

S&P considers these "custom", but yes they are ceramic coated.
100% mandrel bent, ceramic coated, v-band clamps and collectors included (RH gets an additional $250 for v-bands), modified driver AND passenger side, 1.625" or 1.75" primary, 2.5" or 3.0" collectors.

A comparable RH header will demand $1100. The $850 RH headers do not include v-bands, and the primaries are not welded from the back of the flanges - only on the outside around the primary tubes. I spoke to a recent RH header "victim" recently, and he was less than impressed. Some are happy with the RH headers...I guess it depends on how much Quervo Julio had while building a particular set.

They have been known to skip a weld or two, also...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

$850 for RH, "custom" built in San Francisco by Julio "What's-his-face", without v-bands, plus shipping, plus crap welding - or $100 less for S&P, mandrel bent, with v-bands, shipping included.

No brainer, definitely.

After this initial batch of 5 or 6?, I'm assuming/hoping S+P will do this again given another batch order?

I wish I was ready to jump on this right now but I'm not.

Close...

After the Buy-in, 944V8S will be a Street & Performance dealer.
Not only for headers, but for all S&P products, including crate engines:

Street & Performance

It takes a minimum "buy-in" to become a dealer, and a major benefit is the 944V8 LS Headers become a 944V8S exclusive. This means S&P will protect the design, and forward future 944 V8 Conversion Header orders through 944V8S.

The headers will be ours for a long while, and another dealer - not even Renegade, can have these particular headers produced without going through the same process we have. Modify a set, have fixtures built, and generate a minimum order.

These are a done deal.
No more searching for a header that may or may not fit.
No more cutting and re-welding primary tubes.

This is the last piece of the Kit puzzle, and we have the rights to it. These will be available for as long as I'm kickin'...Thanks guys for helping with the first order! Once S&P has my Master Card number, these can be ordered 1 set at a time, anytime.

Awesome.

YES! Eric mentioned he isn't 100% sure if these will fit on the LSX subframe that he's finalizing. Is anybody else planning to go down that road? It might behoove us as a community to get a set over to him for test-fitting. (if he's interested of course) I'd be game for that, seeing that I'll be ordering his part anyway. How much would it suck to have two of the most key achievements be incompatible with each other Razz Maybe you could ship mine to him instead, or will S&P be shipping directly to me?

Headers and LSX subframe

Post  RedHardTop on Mon May 03, 2010 11:51 am

I plan to order the LSX subframe as well. It woould be good to know if both the headers and the LSX subframe work together.

Does this mean we can order individual headers any time, without having a minimum order? I would like to purchase a set when I have the money.
