HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hi,

I would like to put a 4 point harness in my car. I don't have plans for a full roll cage right now but I would like to just put in a simple harness bar to mount the shoulder straps to. If I don't have to rip the interior apart to weld some plates in that would be nice. If I have to go that route then I put in at least a roll bar. I removed the rear seats, you know how they can fold up and down and clip into those two bolts in the main pillars behind the windows? Since the seat and the bolts are now gone there are two convenient threaded plates in the body work. They seem fairly sturdy, enough for a harness bar do you think?

PERFECT!! for some reason all the other roll bars I had found cost a fortune. I can fabricate my own but I don't really want to expend the energy on that when I'm busy trying to get the rest of the car together, this bar looks perfect and it doesn't break the bank. I'll just buy the street bar: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and weld in my own removable crossbar to save the $100. Although..... the race bar isn't all that more expensive and I'll have the peace of mind knowing it meets scca rules when I want to get into that stuff (which I don't know much about yet but I know I will want to learn more soon).

Cheers,
Luke
