HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

The SBC / LT1 Basic Kit is back...

SBC / LT1 Basic Kit

After almost 4 years, and our "Declaration of Independance" from RH, an improved SBC / LT1 Kit is BACK. Here to stay, for those who don't care to be forced into someone else's "great idea".

The SBC / LT1 may be dated, "old" technology, but I see SBC conversions still being built.
Cheap, easy, and weight differences with aluminum heads are relatively reasonable.
Best of all, we now have several bellhousings that work, for far less than $1200.
Headers? Piece of cake...

Individual parts will also be listed soon...

We tried to tell DJ Mann that years ago.
Someone else attempted an LT1 Kit, but it flopped like a fish out of water.

So what if a carbed SBC needs a custom hood...

Ideally, that's what the LS conversions need.
Then hood clearance, crossmember spacers, and all the suspension geometry issues go Bye-Bye.
I can't lay fiberglass, but I know someone that can...

We'll see what happens with it this time...
Better parts, support, and execution.
No reason for the SBC / LT1 getting the Stepchild Treatment.

Scroll down the Kit page...

GM #12554980 (2-piece) or #12551118 (1-piece) Corvette C5 bellhousing.
Aftermarket starters such as the MSD #5095 are required for clearance with the #12551118 bellhousing.

I must admit I was ticked when I saw the SBC kit was no longer being produced..I know that didn't stop me from starting my conversion but I'm a little pig headed at times. I'm sure there are many that will appreciate your decision to continue offering the kit!

This very Kit is what inflamed my stubborn streak. Many hours were spent searching for a way around RH at that time, and apparently still are. The (2) Kits are what brought about this forum, the parts sites, and the technical posts / drawings popping up all over the 'net. No one (or company) has the right to tell any one of us what we should do with our time and money, especially when they try to force it down our throats.

Opinions, opinions.
One narrow-minded plot to protect something that can't be owned.
Intellectual property is one thing...
Patent-free parts is another.

Welcome to the Jungle, Wild Bill.
We swing from Poison Oak here...
