HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Rear Hatch Problem Empty Rear Hatch Problem

Post  cfgioja Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:25 pm

I found that at the top of my hatch where the metal trim wraps the top of the glass, there seems to be a seperation of the glass and metal trim. I thought about swapping hatches but both hatches are the same way.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am trying to figure out how to pull off the metal so I can possibly bend it to the correct position.

This is an extremely common issue with these cars. Here is a Link to PP that has directions on how to fix this, I have yet to do it but it looks like it should work.

Oh man.....very common. Mine was separated as well. I did the reseal as evil has posted and its a PITA! Mostly because the glass was broken!!! Laughing But, Evil's post/link is very helpful and the exact instructions I used and was successful. I have another to do and will follow the exact same procedure.

as an aside, and its kinda funny that I mention "syringe" in your two recent posts (im not a druggy), but I really wanted to take a syringe, find a sealant that was thinned enough and simply inject it inbetween the glass and frame but never found a sealant that would work. Maybe now there is as I was looking in 97. Let me know if you do.

944-LT1, I was thinking the same thing. I have glazed and re-glazed a lot of glass over the last few years and have noticed that when 100% silicone is warm from being outside or in a hot car its very very fast running. My only concern with it would be that it would not stay pliable enough for everyday use. I also imagine that a real glass sealer, the black crap, would get just as runny in the sun before it hits air. I may have to try it for fun when Im done working on the conversion.
