HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Header Spacer Option
I know that in one of the header threads someone suggested using a header flange bolted between the head and exhaust manifold to allow clearance for the steering shaft. I have been giving this some thought for use with the stock manifolds. Does anyone know how much space is available to space the stock manifold out? I found a set of 1/2" spacers. if there is more room than that, I could have something made at work.
I wonder if this really would work??

wouldnt know myself. I ran the RH headers, but I guess it would all depend on the length of the runner coming form the exhaust before bending down.
I know with the RH header the exhaust is rubbing the frame and I had to hammer alittle to get a clearance.

I couldn't tell you either, but once you have the motor installed and you're ready for a header, why not just put 1" of washers in two holes so you can mock up the fit? That's the easiest way to tell for sure.

Yes, that is what I'll have to do. But I was hopeing that someone might be at that point now. It would be great to have this sorted out when I drop mine in. Trouble is that I think I might be the only guy on the board considering the stock exhaust manifolds thanks to the California smog nazis.
If anyone is in a position to give this a look that would be very cool.
