i have aquired a c5 manual 2 piece bellhousing that im using on my early small block conversion .i have a 153 tooth 10.5 flywheel that im using.can i use a factory style early small block starter with the c5 bellhousing.i know msd makes one that will work but they are rather pricey and i have a rebuilt gm starter that i would like to use for the early small block

The factory GM starter should fit inside the 2-piece C5 bellhousing, from what I have measured.
Only starter issues have been with the 1-piece BH, and the MSD starter works with those.

I have an LS3 with a 2 pcs. C5 bellhousing and the MSD starter would not work. I since have picked up a PowerMaster XS starter. I will install this week.
