Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Muscle Paint

Post  cfgioja on Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:28 am

I am picking up the 86 turbo tomorrow and it is suppose to be sanded and primered ready for a new suit. I have been looking around for ideas left and right and about 4 months ago I found the paint I wanted. It was on a DUB Wheels Corvette Stingray toy car. Theirs was black on white, mine is this tell me what you think.

Now I wish I could find rims like that.

I like it too! Not so much the back end though. If it were me i'd probably end it at the back of the hood (no roof, no back side). It's all about what you like though!

I'm liking it and I'm surprised. Normally I don't care for stripes of any kind, but I'm feeling this for some reason.

My only negative is that the vertical line where it goes to black messes with the flow of the body lines somewhat. Angled line instead of dead vertical maybe? Not sure.

As for the GS scheme, I've always loved it including the hash marks, but I can only imagine how much flack you'd get from the Corvette crowd. I see you have the Vette thin-spokes on there too.

(Not meaning to distract from the first idea cfgioja, just adding to it...
'been planning on the C5 spokes for a while now.)

I do like the grandsport there Greg. If you are doing that though, you need to have a black roof as well.

If I ever do a respray though, I will be aiming for this:

I did all of this on Forza 2 for xbox 360. They dont have such things as bolt patterns on that game, any wheel/tire combo works. Don't get me wrong I want those rims, but the time will come later.

As for the Fender stripes, I think it would only do justice on a wide body fender.

I can't please everyone, ya I know hemis belong to mopar and the muscle belongs to them. Like I said I found the idea on a toy car corvette stingray, I did the best to use it on the 944. I figured the LS1 needed some love of American theme.

In the end no one will know what the car truly is, unless they are you guys... Porsche drivers.

I tried to stay away from the ricer look too. It's not that it looks bad, but every honda out there has a black hood with big rims and a huge exhaust tip. Porsche deserves more love than that in my opinion.

Flack, thats something we choose when we said "drop that car on that engine and see if it fits." Purest, car freaks, everyone will have an opinion that is different. Let the bad role off their tongue, they never had the balls to do this swap in the first place. Take in the good and watch their jaws drop.

We were in an elite group, its not everyday you see 20 944 rolling down the road like all other sports cars. Now we are super elite. This is my testiment to the thing called an obsession.

My god, that is a beautiful green!
Any idea what it came from? Paint code or anything?
