For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Will we be able to use our existing motor mounts or will new ones have to be fabbed/purchased?

I am setting this up to use just standard short GM mounts, same as we have been using, and the stock "unmodified " oil pan. Cool

Just a thought, but it would be pretty easy to switch to a different rack all together...which would mean no "special" headers as well!
Is there anything from Flaming River that would work? Stock Corvette, or...?

That was another reason for doing this. It would be real easy to fit any of the Mustang II type racks in here. I just need some dimensions on where the steering shaft goes up and I think it would be very easy to do.

it's all 1\4 " at the moment. I have considered 3\16, but I have to think of the end user first. I want it to stay together. Also, before you say it, as of this afternoon the weight was just the same as the factory cross member with the uprights bolted to it.

Very, very interesting. I am really interested to hear what comes out of the rack options you are looking into. Specifically if will allow use of unmodified headers. That would make my california conversion a bit easier.

Are there any LS or LT headers that are legal in California?

Yes, sir. quite a few actually. There are a few shorties that might work. I think a few have been proposed in the thread headers, header, HEADERS on the board.

Also, as a minimum, to be able to use teh stock header with out modification would be a help. maybe still have to mod the steering shaft??

My Pacesetters are legal (CARB EO#). Not sure about LS, as long as they have a CARB EO they are legal.

That looks great. Fixes a lot of the issues with the conversion. It is too bad I have already orderred the other conversion pieces that will be obsolete with this crossmember.

I don't have a price at the moment, I have to put together everything/cost that will need to come with it to work properly. I should have the price figured out by Tuesday.
When I sell these, it will come with motor mounts, all new bolts, and a custom made adjustable bump steer kit.

This is the final cross member! It is only for the LTx motor setup at the moment Very Happy
It will come with a custom Bump Steer kit and Rubber motor mounts. I will have comfermation that this will fit the LSx motors in 2 weeks. As stated before you can use an unmodified stock oil pan. Yes you can by just the Bump steer kit also. At the moment I only know that it fits an NA car. I will check it on the Turbo in 2 weeks.
