HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 1:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I am reading as much as possible in preparation to do an LSx swap. I am leaning towards an L33 setup as some of your have done and am interested to hear if you are happy with it in terms of power and drivability. My car is a track-only 86 951 with a cage and Motons done last year. I don't need A/C or P/S. I would also like to maintain my suspension geometry which I understand is altered with the crossmember shimming/drop. Thanks

L33 owners chime in please Empty my $0.02

I like the idea of the L33 for the extra power and weight savings, especially for a track only car. I have stripped out everything including the power steering. I opted to not "lower" the crossmember. Instead, I added a bump in the hood to accommodate the throttle body etc. Obviously, the intake needs to be changed to as LS1/6. I also considered running the intake reversed. However, the firewall and TB would intersect at the main pinch weld. It would also require some sort of airbox in the passenger compartment that would draw too many questions by the race officials (my opinion).

Power comments aside...I did spring for a Comp Cam, roller rockers, lifters, etc etc.

Is your car complete? Have you done a dyno? I would be interested in learning about the torque curve and what usable RPM range you are seeing. Would you also mind sharing your cam specs?

Thanks
