HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Yes, I know for the r154's , but since I got a C5 diff with 2.73 R&P, I want to go with an newer AR5 or an older AX15 4x4 (for the tranfer case tail) and better suited ratios. What would be Ideal is to find TCS's for the AX15 since those boxes are so plentiful. I have a lead on a low mile one for 300 bucks Very Happy

The place to call and find out for sure is Rockland Standard Gear. Theyre huge on the Aisin transmissions. They may have a solution such as dual cone, carbon composite, steel, et cetera. But in my searches, I havent seen anything such as triple or dual.

Okay, this is gonna sound kinda dumb because i don't really know what is being referenced...but i saw someone on rennlist mention that the S2000's have a primary gear reduction. I assume this would be a step between the motor and the transmission that would have the same effect as a higher-ratio gear set. Feasible?

Usually a primary drive system is just a gear box that is installed between the trans and drive train/drive shaft. I have installed these in large trucks as a gear reduction, they are made to be an over drive set up as well. The problem would be is that I don't know how you would install it in our setup.

Lot of trouble to complicate the set-up with a gear multiplier. I just got my C5 differential from UPS. As soon as the ice storm goes away I'm gonna do some preliminary measurements for a tranny hanger for it. In the process, I had a brain fart for a better 944 tranny mount that I will make for this summer's NA tranny rag-a-thon......I would like to get the dims on a solid 944 tranny mount so I can convert them to this type of set-up....

I was imagining some kind of planetary that could go in the "bellhousing" area of the transaxle. Couldn't be that difficult, could it?
